On Thursday, February 13, 2025, I was blessed with the opportunity to provide a civic engagement presentation with the awesome staff of the Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana.
My objective was to inspire them to do their very best to help young girls prepare for the future. I wanted to encourage and affirm to them that they have the passion, vision, and tools to help their future leaders grow to realize their full potential.
Each of them has a story to share and some of their stories are the same kind of stories that their scouts might experience as they grow older and attempt to navigate life’s journey. I reminded them of the importance of the keys to their success which include politeness and courtesy in behavior and speech, especially in these difficult times.
Since its founding in 1912, the Girl Scouts have grown to include nearly 2 million girl members and more than 50 million Girl Scout alums. They are united by a spirit of lifelong friendship, shared adventure, and the desire to do big things to make the world a better place.
Thank you GIRL SCOUTS OF GREATER CHICAGO AND NORTHWEST INDIANA for allowing me the opportunity. I close with a quote from Girls Scouts founder Juliette Gordon Low, “Truly, ours is a circle of friendships, united by our ideals.”
